This poster came from a conversation about home away from home that inspired the palm-tree puzzle (another artwork that was inspired by the same conversation). One sketch became a puzzle; this one found its way onto paper.
The palm tree is surrounded by camels and figures inspired by symbols found in Libyan and North African rugs. Together, they speak to being rooted in a place even from far away, and the symbols of home we continue to carry with us.
