This piece began with a new mother wanting to give her baby daughter a piece of a home far away. It holds memories of her own childhood there, playing outside, getting muddy, being surrounded by lemons, oranges, figs, flowers and all the small things that made the place feel alive.

The original became a rug, while this second sketch found its way into a print. A little piece of childhood, passed from mother to daughter so that even from far away, she can grow up with a piece of home.

🍰 designs that didn't become rugs. now living as blankets, prints and puzzles
